Flight Test Engineering Coordinator

Role Overview

The Flight Test Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all flight test activities for our eVTOL aircraft. You will report to the Test Group Manager and be assigned to the Test Group.

The Section Manager will be working closely with the Department Manager and fellow Section Managers to implement department initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities and collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and providing operations support.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, conducting and reporting Test & Evaluation of SD500 .
  • Provide leadership and management of a team of aircrew, instrumentation, and flight test engineers (FTE) from the T&E Directorate to ensure horizontal technical integration across the IPTs within the company.
  • Responsible for test conduct in accordance with Sector Engineering procedures, plans staffing requirements to support execution of critical testing related materials such as ground test plans, flight test plans and test reports.
  • Develop and execute a set of integrated test plans and technical artifacts that will meet the requirements to meet the testing of technical performance parameters and achieve mission success.
  • Assist T&E IPT Manager with program planning and execution from proposal through execution phase.
  • Help coordinate daily test activities for test operations at the test field in Toyota City.
  • Aid in development of flight test plans, scheduling, and execution of program priorities.
  • Lead team of employees to execute to common goals and understand / remove roadblocks while assisting with planning.
  • Frequent contact with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations.
  • Responsible for looking across the organization for efficiencies including reduction of current plans while still meeting program needs.
  • Responsible for earned value management.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong team building skills, and be comfortable working on large, multi-functional teams. Coordination with design teams via planning, organizing, controlling, and approval of actions designated to accomplish overall SIT&E integration.
  • Experience in several of the following areas: Flight Test, Systems development experience; Instrumentation; scheduling resource management.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a focus on flight test operations.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading flight test teams.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to flight testing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in flight test data analysis tools and software.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with eVTOL or rotorcraft.
  • Familiarity with advanced flight test data analysis methodologies and software.
  • Previous experience working in a startup or innovative technology environment.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the eVTOL industry.

Type of Employment

  • Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
  • Probationary period: 3~6 month

Place of Employment

  • Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
  • Toyota Base - Asahi, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture
    • Due to the characteristics of the position, there is a possibility of medium- to long-term business travel.
  • Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)

Working Hours

  • Flextime or Discretionary labor system
  • Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)

Holidays

  • 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
  • Annual paid leave

Salary

  • Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)
  • To be determined based on skills, experience, and abilities
