Power Distribution System V&V Engineer – Systems & Analysis Focus

Outline of the Job

We are seeking a Validation & Verification (V&V) Engineer to lead system-level verification strategies for our eVTOL aircraft’s Power Distribution System (PDS). In this role, you will focus on requirements traceability, compliance analysis, and test result interpretation, ensuring our PDS design meets performance, safety, and certification standards. You will collaborate closely with system architects, suppliers, and certification teams to ensure robust verification coverage across all program phases.

Job Duties

  • Define and maintain system-level V&V strategies for the aircraft’s PDS, from component qualification to final certification.
  • Develop and manage V&V matrices linking requirements to planned verification methods and completed results.
  • Oversee Certification Plan Means of Compliance (MoCs) for PDS-related regulations and coordinate with certification authorities.
  • Review and approve supplier qualification test plans (QTP) and test reports (QTR), ensuring they meet aircraft-level requirements.
  • Analyze aircraft telemetry and test data, generating plots and reports to assess system performance and compliance margins.
  • Provide technical recommendations to resolve discrepancies or non-compliances identified during verification.
  • Support integration bench (IB) and ground/flight test teams by defining required test points, data capture needs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure alignment of all V&V activities with applicable aerospace standards (DO-160, DO-254, SAE ARP documents, MIL-STD equivalents).
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure requirements are verifiable and verification methods are practical.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years in aircraft electrical systems certification V&V methods of compliance, e.g. analysis, laboratory testing, iron bird testing, aircraft ground tests and flight tests.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements management and traceability tools (DOORS, Jama, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-704, ARP4761, and FAA certification processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex electrical system data and correlate with requirements.
  • Strong technical writing skills for compliance documentation.

Desirable skills

  • Experience with high-voltage (600–800 VDC) and low-voltage (28 VDC) aircraft power systems.
  • Knowledge of eVTOL systems architecture and distributed electric propulsion concepts.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods.

Working Hours

  • Flextime or Discretionary labor system
    • In the case of flextime: No core time
    • In case of Discretionary Labor System: Specialized Class Deemed working hours per day: 10 hours
  • Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
    • Overtime Work: Available

Holidays

  • 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
  • Annual paid leave

Salary

  • Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 6,850,000- JPY 11,500,000
    *Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
