The Flight Test Team Member is responsible for overseeing all aspects of flight-testing operations, ensuring that our eVTOL aircraft systems meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
This role involves managing a team of test pilots, engineers, and technicians, coordinating test schedules, and ensuring that all flight tests are conducted safely and efficiently. The Flight Test Team Leader will work closely with design and development teams to plan, execute, and analyze flight tests, providing critical data for the certification and enhancement of our eVTOL aircraft systems.
Key Responsibility
- Develop comprehensive flight test plans in collaboration with engineering, design, and production teams.
- Coordinate the scheduling of test flights, ensuring optimal use of resources and alignment with project timelines.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all tests meet required certification standards.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of test pilots, flight engineers, and technicians.
- Ensure all flight test operations adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of test aircraft, ensuring they are in optimal condition for testing.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for flight test operations.
- Analyze flight test data to evaluate aircraft performance, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare detailed reports on test results, including performance metrics, safety assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Present findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to align flight test objectives with overall project goals.
- Communicate regularly with customers, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to provide updates on test progress and outcomes.
- Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to coordinate testing of components and systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in flight test operations and implement best practices.

Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in flight test operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong awareness of safety protocol.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with eVTOL development
- Knowledge of system integration and design
- Some experience with TC acquisition
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies such as the FAA, JCAB, EASA, or similar.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a focus on safety and quality.
- Knowledge of flight characteristics and performance and ability to analyze
- Working experience with measurement and data analysis tools

Place of Employment
- Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
- Toyota Test Field - Asuke, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture
- Medium to long term travel to testing sites will be required due to this position's characteristics.
- Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)
Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
- Annual paid leave
- Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)
Salary
- Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)
