Inverter Development Team Leader for eVTOL

Outlie of the Job

As the Inverter Development Team Leader, you will take a leading role in the design, development, and optimization of inverters, a core component of the electric propulsion system for next-generation eVTOLs. This position involves demonstrating technical leadership in inverter development while ensuring successful project outcomes through supplier management and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing system architecture and defining specifications for Electric Speed Controllers (ESC).
  • Developing inverters that achieve high efficiency and reliability.
  • Designing with consideration for thermal management, electrical characteristics, and safety standards.
  • Creating work plans and managing progress for team members.
  • Acting as the technical interface with suppliers and monitoring their progress.
  • Supporting suppliers in resolving technical challenges.
  • Managing project schedules and conducting risk assessments.
  • Solving cross-functional issues through collaboration with other teams.
  • Developing test plans for ESC systems.
  • Proposing and implementing improvements based on test results.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and developing ESCs or inverters in the aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience as a project leader or team leader.
  • Experience collaborating with international suppliers or partners.
  • Proficiency in English sufficient for professional communication.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with aviation standards such as RTCA DO-254 and DO-160.
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and electromagnetic analysis software.
  • Experience in electric aircraft or eVTOL projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of power electronics.
  • Broad expertise in motor control systems, inverter circuit design, and motor control circuit design.
  • Development experience in a global team environment.

Type of Employment

  • Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
  • Probationary period: 3~6 month

Place of Employment

  • Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
  • Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)

Working Hours

  • Flextime or Discretionary labor system
  • Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)

Holidays

  • 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
  • Annual paid leave
  • Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)

Salary

  • Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)
  • To be determined based on skills, experience, and abilities
