Aerodynamic Engineer
Outline of the Job
We are seeking a skilled Aerodynamic Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team dedicated to the development of next-generation eVTOL aircraft. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and optimizing aerodynamic performance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-performing aircraft. As an Aerodynamic Engineer, you will contribute to innovative aircraft designs, work closely with interdisciplinary teams, and leverage advanced simulation and testing methods to advance the future of urban air mobility.
- Conduct aerodynamic design and analysis of the eVTOL airframe and key components, focusing on lift, drag, and flow characteristics to optimize performance.
- Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to model, simulate, and improve aerodynamic efficiency, stability, and control under various operating conditions.
- Identify and evaluate design trade-offs to balance aerodynamic performance with structural and weight constraints.
- Plan, execute, and analyze wind tunnel tests to validate CFD models and assess real-world aerodynamic behavior.
- Interpret and synthesize test data, adjusting designs as needed to enhance performance and confirm compliance with engineering specifications.
- Collaborate closely with teams in structural engineering, flight control, propulsion, and certification to ensure integrated, efficient designs.
- Support the flight testing team by providing aerodynamic expertise and adjustments based on flight test data.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and presentation materials to communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- Ensure thorough documentation of aerodynamic design processes and testing procedures for certification and regulatory compliance.
Job Highlight
The eVTOL is the most advanced development in the world, combining "technology for flying" and "power electronics". To achieve this goal, our various teams, including flight controls, avionics, electrical/power systems, and flight sciences in collaboration with our test pilots, are working in unison to advance the project. We are confident that you will be able to fully demonstrate your abilities and participate in this world-leading activity, which you will not be able to experience anywhere else.
