Battery Development Specialist for eVTOL

The Battery Development Specialist will play a crucial role in the design, development, certification, and optimization of battery systems for eVTOL applications. This position requires a deep understanding of battery chemistry, cell design, and battery management systems (BMS) to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of our eVTOL aircraft.
Key Responsibility
- Lead the design and development of advanced battery systems tailored for eVTOL applications.
- Conduct research on cutting-edge battery technologies and assess their applicability to eVTOL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate battery systems into eVTOL aircraft.
- Manage relationships with battery suppliers, including ensuring supplier performance meets quality and delivery standards.
- Lead the certification process for battery systems, including preparing documentation, liaising with regulatory bodies, and conducting necessary tests and evaluations.
- Develop and implement battery testing protocols to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Analyze battery performance data and identify opportunities for improvement in energy density, cycle life, and charging efficiency.
- Optimize battery management systems (BMS) for enhanced safety and reliability.
- Participate in the development of thermal management solutions for battery systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical support during the prototyping, testing, and certification phases of battery development.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in battery technology.

Essential Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in battery development, preferably within the aerospace or eVTOL industry.
- Experience in the certification process of battery systems.
- Experience in team management and project lead.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety requirements for battery systems and aircraft certification.
Desirable Skills
- Battery development experience at an eVTOL manufacturer.
- Experience with aviation certification processes.
- Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery chemistry and cell design.
- Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and thermal management solutions.
- Proficiency in battery testing methods and data analysis.
- Experience with solid-state batteries and other emerging battery technologies.
- Experience in supplier management
- Knowledge of simulation tools for battery performance and thermal management.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a focus on advanced technology development.

Type of Employment
- Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
- Probationary period: 3~6 month
Place of Employment
- Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
- Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)
Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
- Annual paid leave

Salary
- Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)
