You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems in accordance with aerospace standards.
Key Responsibility
- Design, analyze, and develop high-voltage (600-800V DC) and low-voltage (28VDC) power distribution systems for eVTOL applications, considering functions such as HV power distribution, HV to LV power conversion (DC-DC converters), and LV power distribution.
- Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with applicable power distribution requirements, efficiency targets, and safety standards.
- Support electrical power quality assessments, including transient analysis, harmonics, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation.
- Conduct trade studies on power distribution components such as circuit breakers, relays, connectors, and power electronic devices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-704, ARP4761) and certification requirements.
- Work closely with battery management system (BMS), propulsion, avionics, and flight control teams to ensure seamless power integration.
- Develop and execute test plans for power distribution system validation, including lab testing and aircraft-level integration.
- Identify and mitigate electrical safety hazards and ensure robustness in high-voltage and low-voltage system design.
- Provide technical support for component qualification and system integration activities.
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage DC distribution architectures.
- Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-704, ARP4761, and FAA certification processes.
- Hands-on experience with power distribution components, including circuit breakers, relays, contactors, and power electronics.
- Experience with electrical simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, or similar)
Desirable Skills
- Experience in eVTOL, electric propulsion, or hybrid-electric aircraft development.
- Experience with DC-DC converter design review and compliance verification for efficient power conversion in aerospace applications.
