Outline of the Job
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Aerodynamic Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team dedicated to the development of next-generation eVTOL aircraft. This role focuses on designing, analysing, and optimizing aerodynamic performance to ensure safety and efficient for high-performing aircraft. As an Aerodynamic Engineer, you will contribute to innovative aircraft designs, work closely with interdisciplinary teams, and leverage advanced simulation and testing methods to advance the future of urban air mobility.
- Using CFD simulations to refine aircraft designs, improve performance, and enhance aircraft efficiency.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics physics of external flows for continuous design optimization.
- Conduct aerodynamic design simulations using comprehensive multidisciplinary optimization tools.
- Conduct optimization analysis of key components of aircraft, including blades, focusing on aircraft performance optimization.
- Analysis of the eVTOL airframe and key components, focusing on lift, drag, and flow characteristics to optimize performance.
- Identify and evaluate design trade-offs opportunities to balance aerodynamic performance with structural and weight constraints.
- Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to model, simulate, and improve aerodynamic efficiency, stability, and controllability.
- Conduct analysis in multi-rotors environment including the rotor-dynamics vibratory effects coupling with unsteady aerodynamics.
- Plan, execute, and analyse wind tunnel tests to validate CFD models to assess real-world aerodynamic behaviour.
- Interpret and synthesize test data, adjusting designs as needed to enhance performance and confirm compliance with engineering specifications.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams such as Structure, Manufacturing, Loads, Systems, Flight Control, Propulsion, and support certification to ensure safety,
- Support the Flight Test team by providing aerodynamic expertise and acquiring data for adjustments of mathematical models based on flight test data.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and presentation materials to communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- Ensure thorough documentation of aerodynamic design processes and testing procedures for certification and regulatory compliance.
Essential Skills
- More than 7 years experience in aerodynamics field: design, optimization and analysis
- Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering/Master's Degree in Engineering or Ph.D., or equivalent knowledge
- Those who have experience in any of the following and have the technical ability to discuss other areas:
Aircraft concept design using MDO tools
Aerodynamic design using CFD and WT tools - English proficiency at the level necessary for technical development
Desirable Skills
- Those who have a deep knowledge of electric propulsion systems, flight control systems, system integration, and a background in VTOL design
- Experience managing all technical aspects of aircraft aerodynamic design from requirements definition to certification (CS.23/25 and/or CS.27/29)
- Experience setting aerodynamic loads on blades, rotor, and other aircraft components
- Knowledge and experience in aeroelasticity and Fluid Structural Coupling (FSI) tools
- Knowledge in coupled simulations of rotor-dynamics and aerodynamics for multi-rotors environment such as CAMRADII, Flight Lab.

- Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture

- Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)
Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- In the case of flextime: No core time
- Discretionary Labor System: Specialized Class Deemed working hours per day: 10 hours
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
- Overtime Work: Available
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)

Salary
- Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 6,850,000- JPY 11,500,000
- Monthly Salary: JPY 571,000- JPY 959,000
- Includes fixed overtime pay for 45 hours, amounting to JPY 197,680- JPY 331,997
*Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
