Development IT & Digital Transformation Manager

Position Summary:

We are a startup developing innovative eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft. We are seeking a Development IT & Digital Transformation Manager to oversee our entire digital environment, spanning from aircraft development and testing to manufacturing and the supply chain.

This is a critical position that goes beyond mere system administration. We are looking for a strategic IT partner who can identify business challenges, strategically design, and build the future digital foundation to enable our business strategy. You will work closely with our engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to lead our digital transformation (DX) and guide your team to project success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop the Strategic Vision for Development IT:
Deeply understand our business goals, development, manufacturing, and SCM processes to formulate mid-to-long-term IT strategies and roadmaps to establish a competitive advantage through IT, presenting them to the management team and driving execution.

2. Achieve a Seamless Environment through System Integration:
Integrate end-to-end systems (PLM, ERP, MES, WMS, etc.) from Design through Procurement, Production, and Supply Chain to establish a seamless digital environment where data and processes link efficiently.

3. Solve Development and Business Processes with IT:
Identify and analyze fundamental challenges and communication bottlenecks within development and business units, providing root-cause solutions and efficiency gains using IT solutions (process improvement, new technology adoption, custom development, etc.).

4. Establish and Operate Core Development and Business Systems: 
Oversee the planning, implementation, maintenance, and operation management of core business systems such as PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and MES (Manufacturing Execution System), ensuring stable operation and continuous improvement.

5. Team Management and Project Leadership
Oversee the Development IT group as a manager, including team coordination, member development, and also managed outsourced vendors and IT service management

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of IT team management experience
  • Experience in the entire lifecycle of IT strategy, from planning to execution.
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT role within the manufacturing industry (Aerospace, Automotive, etc.).
  • Business-level English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, including eVTOL.
  • Knowledge of the Type Certificate acquisition process and experience handling related data management requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with certification authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA, JCAB).
  • Experience in managing the traceability of critical parts within a supply chain.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with IoT and AI for the automation and optimization of manufacturing and development processes.
  • Experience building and operating data analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency

Type of Employment

  • Probationary period: 6 month

Place of Employment

  • Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
    • Measures to Prevent Secondhand Smoke: Smoking Room Provided
  • Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)

Working Hours

  • Supervisor
    • Supervisor: As per Japan's Labor Standards Act, regulations concerning working hours, breaks, and holidays do not apply.
  • Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
    • Overtime Work: Available

Holidays

  • 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
  • Annual paid leave
  • Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)

Salary

  • Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 10,000,000 - JPY 16,000,000
  • Monthly Salary: JPY 834,000 - JPY 1,334,000
    • Includes fixed overtime pay for 20 hours, amounting to JPY  24,290 - JPY  38,855 
      *Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
  • To be determined based on skills, experience, and abilities
