Design Organisation Approval (DOA) Process Assurance Engineer
Role Overview
As a DOA Process Assurance Engineer, you will be the architect of SkyDrive’s certification framework. You will ensure that our Design Organisation Approval (DOA)/Organisation Delegation Authorization (ODA)/Approved Design Organisation (ADO) is not just a set of documents, but a living, breathing system that meets the stringent requirements of JCAB Circular 2-001, while harmonizing with EASA Part-21 Subpart J & G and FAA standards. You will be the primary link between our engineering teams and the regulators, ensuring our path to type certification for our eVTOL air taxi is clear, compliant, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Framework & Documentation
- Lead the preparation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Approved Organisation Exposition (AOE)/Design Organisation Handbook.
- Draft and update internal standards and procedures to ensure alignment with JCAB Circular 2-001 and international airworthiness standards.
- Ensure that the relationship between Design (Subpart J) and Production (Subpart G) is seamlessly integrated within the company’s management system.
- Certification & Liaison
- Act as the primary focal point for liaison with JCAB and other regulatory bodies (FAA, etc.) regarding ADO matters.
- Coordinate certification programs for qualification and appointments of Certifying Staff, ensuring all the applicable requirements of JCAB circular 2-001 are complied.
- Manage the process for obtaining and maintaining Design Organisation Approvals.
- Process Assurance & Risk Management
- Conduct internal Process Assurance Audits to monitor compliance with the approved Design Handbook/AOE.
- Identify non-conformities and drive Corrective Action Plans (CAPA) to resolution.
- Perform risk assessments on design processes to proactively mitigate compliance hurdles in the development lifecycles.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in the aerospace industry, specifically within airworthiness, certification, or quality assurance.
- Experience in establishing and implementing a Quality Management System (QMS).
- Linguistic & Cultural Skills: Native-level proficiency in Japanese or English.
Desirable Skills
- Experience: 7–12 years of professional experience in the aerospace industry, specifically within airworthiness, certification, or quality assurance.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep expertise in JCAB regulations, as well as EASA Part-21 (Subpart J & G) and/or FAA 14 CFR Part 21.
- Certification Skills: Proven track record in preparing official Expositions and managing the transition from design to production.
- Audit Proficiency: Experience conducting internal audits and managing external regulatory audits.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in Japanese is preferred but not mandatory (for direct JCAB negotiation and internal documentation) and English (for international regulatory harmonization and technical literature).

- Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
- Probationary period: 3~6 month
Place of Employment
- Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
- Measures to Prevent Secondhand Smoke: Smoking Room Provided
- Travel may be required if necessary.
- Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)
Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- In the case of flextime: No core time
- Discretionary Labor System: Specialized Class Deemed working hours per day: 10 hours
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
- Overtime Work: Available
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)

Salary
- Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 6,850,000 - JPY 13,000,000
- Monthly Salary: JPY 571,000- JPY 1,080,000
- Includes fixed overtime pay for 45 hours, amounting to JPY 197,680- JPY 296,697
*Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
