Motor Development Engineer

Outline of the Job
As a member of the Motor Development team for flying cars, this position will focus on supporting the development of motors that ensure the safety, performance, and reliability of eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking project where you'll work alongside experts in various technical fields, including power electronics, flight control, aerodynamics, and certification, to create the future of urban air mobility.
Job Highlights
- Review of system requirements for propulsion units, ensuring traceability from aircraft-level requirements to motor component specifications, and doing documentation.
- Support certification activities discussing with relative teams and Authorities, and assess for flight safety aspects.
- Perform simulation and verification, confirming the motor meets the required quality standards.
- Create required test specifications and conduct test and evaluation discussing with relative teams.
- Assist in identifying and coordinating with potential motor suppliers to meet the project’s requirements.
- Support margin control to ensure the motor meets aircraft performance specifications, collaborating with partner manufacturers.
- Participate in checking the performance of motors on actual equipment, identifying areas for improvement in collaboration with prototype and test teams.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of motor systems that meet the strict certification standards of the aviation industry.
Essential Skills
- Experience in various stages of motor development processes.
- Background in developing high-power AC motors in the mobility industry.
- Experience in motor and inverter testing for high power and high voltage system
- Experience in supplier management or coordination
- Open conversation and documentation in English for technical discussion
Desirable skills
- Broad experience in electromagnetic design, mechanical design, thermal design and motor control systems
- Experience with electromagnetic or mechanical, thermal analysis, and/or MATLAB/Simulink simulation for motor characteristics prediction
- Knowledge of mechanical material for aviation industry of AMS (Aerospace Material Specifications) standards.
- Experience in Type certification or deep knowledge in relative regulations or standards, especially for Aviations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of system engineering, motor control and inverter design
- Proficiency in negotiating and coordinating with internal and external partners by English convesation.
- Development experience within a global team

Type of Employment
- Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
- Probationary period: 3~6 month
Place of Employment
- Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
- Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)
Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
- Annual paid leave
- Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)
Salary
- Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)
