What’s the Role?

HSE Technician – Chilca

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled HSE Technician to join our team in Chilca.

In this role, you will play a key part in promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, customers and visitors in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will support the implementation of our HSE plans and programs, assist with hazard identification and safe work procedures, supervise field activities, and ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental and sustainability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • HSE Support: Provide support to the HSE Business Partner and Safety & Sustainability Specialist to ensure compliance with the company’s Safety and Sustainability Plan in daily work and industrial production activities.
  • Contractor and Field Supervision: Ensure that contractors and visitors understand and follow Bradken’s Safety and Sustainability expectations, verify that they comply with standards and procedures and supervise field work and manoeuvres to prevent harm to people, equipment and materials.
  • Inductions, Training and Daily Talks: Carry out HSE inductions and re-inductions for employees, contractors and visitors, participate in and/or lead the Daily Safety and Sustainability Talk and provide basic guidance and training on HSE best practices.
  • Inspections, Incident Management and Reporting: Monitor the operational status of equipment and tools, verify the provision and correct use of PPE and control measures, investigate and report accidents and incidents in a timely manner and maintain records, files and reports in systems such as MyOSH, Chemwatch, TeamCentre and SharePoint.

Our Ideal Candidate meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Technical or bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health at Work, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering or related fields.
  • Certifications: Diploma/Specialization in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum 200 hours). Firefighter or paramedic training is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience as an HSE Technician or Safety and Environmental Risk Prevention Supervisor in industrial processes (manufacturing, production, heavy industry or similar).
  • Background in the industry: Experience in industrial, manufacturing, fabrication or mining companies is highly valued.
  • Language skills: Basic to intermediate English is valued but not mandatory.

The position will be based at our Chilca Foundry, located at G74J+WH, Chilca 15870
