Supply Chain Systems Specialist

Role Purpose & Contribution:

As Supply Chain Systems Specialist, you will partner closely with Supply Chain leaders to translate operational challenges into scalable analytical frameworks. You will design enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models, develop advanced SQL-based data structures, and implement AI-enabled insights to improve forecasting, root cause analysis and supply chain optimisation.

You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, diagnosing process inefficiencies and converting analytical outputs into practical, business-focused recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Analytics & Data Modelling

  • Design and maintain enterprise-scale Power BI semantic models integrating multiple data warehouses
  • Develop scalable data models enabling self-service analytics and automated insight generation
  • Establish modelling standards including conformed dimensions, naming conventions and reusable logic
  • Perform deep data profiling, reconciliation and validation across operational systems
  • Develop highly optimised SQL for large datasets

Reporting & Insight Generation

  • Build governed Power BI datasets and guided analytics solutions
  • Design visualisations highlighting trends, anomalies and behavioural patterns
  • Implement advanced calculations and analytical measures
  • Shift reporting from descriptive outputs to decision-support tools
  • Surface emerging risks and operational performance deviations

AI & Automation

  • Apply AI-enabled analytics features (predictive forecasting, clustering, AI visuals)
  • Interpret and validate AI-driven outputs in a business context
  • Identify automation opportunities including RPA and AI-assisted workflows
  • Monitor and validate advanced analytics models for accuracy and reliability                                                                                                                                                                                         

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with global stakeholders to translate operational needs into analytical solutions
  • Present data-driven recommendations influencing operational and strategic decisions
  • Promote a data-driven culture across supply chain teams
  • Balance technical feasibility, business practicality and data integrity

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and design improved workflows
  • Evolve BI platforms for performance and usability
  • Lead improvement initiatives and support operational planning

About You

You are technically strong, analytically rigorous and commercially aware. You are comfortable operating at the intersection of supply chain operations, ERP systems and advanced analytics.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain or related discipline (desirable)

Experience & Capability

  • Strong experience with Power BI data modelling and report development
  • Advanced SQL capability across large datasets
  • Strong understanding of ERP and supply chain systems
  • Experience applying AI-enabled analytics or machine learning techniques to business problems
  • Experience with AI-assisted analytics tools (e.g. Power BI AI features, Microsoft Copilot)
  • Ability to validate, interpret and monitor AI-generated insights responsibly
  • Experience implementing automation solutions within supply chain processes
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable commercial insights
