What’s the Role?

Rigger – Chilca Project

We have an exciting opportunity for a Rigger to join our team in Chilca, Lima. You will be part of our Global Team.

In this role, you will be responsible for lifting, transporting and handling molds and production materials using manipulators, overhead cranes, transfer cars and other material handling equipment. You will guide and assist other workers in molding, core making, melting/casting, heat treatment, scrap, shakeout, sand reclamation and fettling workshops, supporting safe, efficient and high-quality production. You will also check the general condition of material handling equipment, report defects, and actively contribute to a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lift, transport and handle molds and production materials using manipulators, overhead cranes, transfer cars and other material handling equipment.
  • Control and guide the operation of manipulators and lifting equipment, moving molds and materials to designated locations.
  • Assist and guide other workers in molding, core shop, heat treatment, melting/casting, scrap, shakeout, sand reclamation and fettling workshops, as well as with production activities.
  • Assist other workers with equipment installations and maintenance activities when required.
  • Receive instructions from supervision and ensure that manufacturing notes and work instructions are applied.
  • Check the general condition of material handling equipment, complete reports and promptly report any defects.
  • Keep the work area, tools and equipment safe, clean and in good order, complying with all applicable regulations and standards in terms of occupational health and safety, environment and quality.
  • Actively demonstrate adherence to Safety and 5S and participate in safety interactions, task observations, training and development.
  • Be proactive in identifying continuous improvement opportunities and participate in activities to reduce waste and promote multiskilling.

 

Our Ideal Candidate meet the following criteria:

  • Qualifications & Certifications: Foundry Operator Certification.
  • Experience: Three years of relevant experience operating overhead cranes in foundry environments or similar heavy industrial environments.
  • Technical Skills & Knowledge: Proven ability to operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality of execution and 5S in daily work.
  • Background in the industry: Experience in foundry, heavy manufacturing, fabrication or mining-related operations is highly valued.

 

Location

The position will be based at our Chilca Foundry, located at G74J+WH, Chilca 15870 (transportation will be provided).
