Shift Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader – Chilca Project
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Shift Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join our team in Chilca.
In this role, you will be responsible for executing the asset management strategy and maintenance program for the foundry, including preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, shutdowns and changeovers. You will play a key role in keeping machinery running smoothly, avoiding stoppages and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). You will also lead and develop the mechanical maintenance team, coordinate with engineering, electrical and technical teams, manage subcontractors and promote a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Execution: Execute mechanical maintenance activities and capital projects in line with the asset strategy, maintenance plans, engineering budgets and site priorities.
- Equipment Reliability and OEE: Keep foundry machinery running smoothly, avoid stoppages, support TPM practices and identify improvement opportunities to increase equipment reliability and OEE.
- Shutdowns and Commissioning: Plan and execute plant shutdowns, equipment installation, commissioning and electromechanical projects according to drawings, specifications, standards and commissioning protocols.
- Safety and Compliance: Actively demonstrate that safety is the number one priority, follow LOTOTO procedures, review and authorize safe work permits and ensure that employees and subcontractors comply with safety and sustainability systems.
- Planning and Continuous Improvement: Prioritize, plan, execute and monitor improvement projects, participate in root cause analysis, follow up action plans and maintain equipment records and maintenance history.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop the mechanical maintenance team and subcontractors, ensuring that work is safe, authorized, productive, measurable and aligned with Bradken standards.
Our Ideal Candidate meets the following criteria:
Qualifications:
- Education: Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technician or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in commissioning and installation of heavy-duty equipment. Experience developing and implementing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs in foundries, steel making plants or similar heavy industrial environments is highly valued.
- Leadership: Experience leading mechanical maintenance teams and/or multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors.
- Technical Skills: Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and standards. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to guide others in applying them.
- Background in the industry: Experience in industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, foundry, steel or mining-related companies is valued but not mandatory.
- Language skills: Technical English is valued but not mandatory.
Location:
The position will be based at our Chilca Foundry, located at G74J+WH, Chilca 15870 (transportation will be provided).
