About the role

This is a permanent full-time position supporting the manufacture of components for the Australian sugar industry.

Working with a skilled team, you'll take the lead on machine setup, first-off verification, workshop planning, and mentoring apprentices and tradespeople while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.

In this role you wil be:

  • Setting and programming CNC machinery
  • Verifying first-off production components
  • Supporting production planning and workflow
  • Leading by example on safety and quality
  • Training and mentoring apprentices and team members
  • Working closely with supervisors and workshop teams to improve productivity and efficiency

You will have:

  • Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or similar mechanical trade
  • Experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
  • CNC machine setting and programming experience
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to lead by example and support others in the workshop
  • Forklift, dogging or other relevant tickets are advantageous but not essential
