
Design Engineer

The Opportunity
You will design, develop, and provide engineering services across Bradken’s product lines, including Ground Engaging Tools (GET), Undercarriage, Buckets & Dump Bodies, Mill Liners, and Fixed Plant / Mineral Processing Equipment. You will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving product performance, and delivering on our promise of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Role Highlights
- Design and customise engineered solutions for global mining customers
- Support iconic Bradken products used in some of the world’s toughest environments
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to test, validate, and improve products
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in a safety‑first environment
What You Will Do
- Design and develop fit‑for‑purpose products and service offerings, providing high‑quality technical support throughout the product lifecycle
- Perform engineering activities including solid modelling, detailed drafting, hand calculations, tolerance studies, analysis/simulation, and reverse engineering
- Apply quality and manufacturing standards, ensuring compliance with Bradken internal specifications, standards, and procedures
- Support product failure investigations, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities
- Prepare technical and wear prediction reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising engineering data and trends
- Maintain accurate product data in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and ensure effective communication to stakeholders and customers
- Build strong internal relationships to enable testing, validation, and successful launch of new products, solutions, and services
- Support additional engineering activities as directed by the Engineering Team Lead
What You Bring
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical design, development, or engineering services
- Hands‑on experience with CAD modelling, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, and PLM systems
- Experience in translating design ideas/requirements into detailed engineering documents/specifications, by applying the fundamental concepts of mechanical engineering and drawing creation
- Experience in Fabrications, castings, and handling engineering calculations
- Experience in managing and updating engineering drawings, CAD models, Bill of Materials, and technical information in product lifecycle management tool (Preferred Nx and Teamcenter)
- Knowledge in Ansys, CAD Automation, AI tools and Product Rendering tools. (would be added advantage)
- Experience managing and tracking work using project management tools
- Collaborates effectively with across diverse cultures and global teams through clear and concise communication
