As General Manager – Manufacturing APAC reporting to the Executive General Manager Operations you will sit at the centre of our manufacturing leadership, shaping how we deliver operational excellence, build long-term capability, and drive industrial innovation across the region.

The Role: 

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a technically diverse and commercially critical manufacturing footprint across the Asia Pacific region. As General Manager – Manufacturing APAC, you will lead nine foundry and machining sites, with accountability for performance, capital investment, safety, and culture. Positioned at the heart of our manufacturing leadership, you will shape how we deliver operational excellence, build long-term capability, and drive industrial innovation across the region. 

In addition to regional responsibilities, the role holds global accountability for asset management strategy and manufacturing training. You will play a key role in aligning Bradken’s operations with growth, customer delivery, and innovation goals. Collaborating closely with global leaders across Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, Product Development, and Commercial, you’ll ensure manufacturing outcomes support both current priorities and future direction. 

Key focus areas 

  • Develop and lead the execution of Bradken’s APAC manufacturing strategy in alignment with broader customer, commercial, service, and environmental objectives 
  • Guide regional operations across safety, quality, cost, delivery and sustainability with strong governance and KPI alignment to meet performance goals 
  • Oversee capital investment planning and execution, and maintain a forward-looking asset strategy that supports long-term competitiveness 
  • Leads and fosters a proactive safety culture that delivers world class safety performance and supports Bradken’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 
  • Partner cross-functionally & globally to align site execution with product development, customer delivery, and supply chain priorities 
  • Embed ISO and risk frameworks, ensure audit readiness, and drive continuous improvement across the network 
  • Build strong, accountable leadership across the sites, with a focus on talent development, clarity of performance standards, and integrated decision-making 
  • Lead communication and change through systems, process, and capability shifts, ensuring clarity and connection across levels 

Your background 

  • Senior manufacturing leadership experience across heavy industry, ideally within foundry, steelmaking, or complex metal production 
  • Felt Safety Leader that actively demonstrates safety is a core value through actions and behaviours.  
  • Technical credibility in casting, machining, heat treatment, or related processes, combined with commercial fluency 
  • A track record of managing large operational teams and multi-site performance, including capital and safety accountability 
  • Experience aligning operational strategy with business growth, product development, and customer outcomes 
  • A collaborative and decisive leadership style with the ability to lead through complexity and build lasting stakeholder trust 
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, metallurgy, business, or related fields 

This role, open to candidates based in Brisbane, Newcastle and Perth, requires frequent travel to our manufacturing sites across the APAC region to ensure effective oversight and implementation of strategic initiatives.
