About the Role:

We are looking for a Distributor Channel Manager to manage and optimize the commercial relationships with our distributors, ensuring the channel’s expansion and driving Virgin Mobile’s customer base growth in Colombia. This role will be crucial in executing the distribution strategy, ensuring product availability, efficient supply, and a satisfactory end-customer experience.

You will work closely with both regional and national teams to align the distribution strategy with the company’s objectives, overseeing the channel’s effectiveness and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as line activations, top-ups, and new customer acquisition are met.

What You Will Do:

Commercial Management and KPI Compliance:

  • Coordinate and oversee commercial strategies to increase the visibility and effectiveness of the distributor channel, aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure distributors maintain a consistent flow of products and services, ensuring adequate geographic coverage.
  • Manage key performance indicators like activations, top-ups, and customer acquisition, ensuring that the goals established by commercial leadership are met.

Development of New Commercial Strategies:

  • Execute policies and processes established for the distributor channel, seeking opportunities to innovate and enhance the distribution network in the market.
  • Create synergies with distributors and other market players to drive channel growth.
  • Promote the adoption of new company commercial strategies, aligning them with the needs of distributors and the market.

Area Management:

  • Design and execute the management plan for the distributor channel, setting clear goals and communicating objectives to all involved parties.
  • Monitor distributor performance, identify deviations, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure proper distribution and logistics of products and services in the assigned territory.
  • Design and manage the incentive and commission plan for the distributor channel, aligning it with commercial objectives to maximize distributor performance and loyalty.

Team Management:

  • Lead internal teams and channel collaborators, ensuring high levels of motivation and commitment.
  • Facilitate communication between distributors and internal teams, ensuring a proper flow of information.
  • Hold regular meetings with distributors to align strategies, share goals, and monitor results.
  • Foster the development of distributors’ capabilities, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to meet their targets.

Network of Contacts and Budget Management:

  • Maintain and expand a network of contacts within the distributor channel, facilitating effective communication and management of key distributors in the market.
  • Manage budgets assigned to the distributor channel, ensuring the optimization of resources and the fulfillment of established goals, both commercially and operationally.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, or a related field. A postgraduate degree or specialization in Commercial Management is a plus.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in commercial roles managing distribution channels or indirect sales, with mandatory experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with Prepaid and/or Postpaid products within telecommunications.
  • Experience in managing commercial teams and relationships with distributors or points of sale, with a strong results-driven focus.
  • Knowledge of distribution network management, market analysis, sales strategies, and performance indicators control.
  • Experience in designing and executing incentive and commission plans for distributors, aimed at maximizing their motivation and performance.
  • Knowledge and budget management experience, optimizing financial resources to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools (pivot tables, data management, etc.).
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills to manage relationships with distributors and internal teams.
