Hiring Manager: Group Head Commercial Finance

Role Purpose
As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in providing full-scale analysis beyond finance, covering all aspects of operations to drive efficiency, optimization, and business growth. Your work will directly impact strategic decision-making and financial planning for Virgin Mobile Mexico, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
What success looks like: Within the first 6–12 months, you will:
- Track and analyze budget performance against actual results, identifying key variances and insights.
- Prepare the budget for the next fiscal year, ensuring accurate forecasting and alignment with strategic goals.
Challenges & Opportunities: In this role, you will fix the financial fundamentals, ensuring that financial processes, reporting, and controls are robust and effective. You will be the go-to finance expert in the market, driving improvements in financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Partner with the Leadership Team to surface insights and provide P&L planning support for quick decision-making in daily operations.
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact for Mexico, overseeing forecasting, goal setting, and financial modeling.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process, taking a bottom-up approach and creating detailed financial forecasts.
- Conduct weekly and monthly financial reviews, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Track actual performance vs. budget, identifying key trends and areas for action.
- Lead the development of the next fiscal year’s budget, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Partner with commercial teams to forecast revenue, channel sales, commissions, and sales targets.
- Financial Controlling & Reporting
- Work closely with the local finance head to support monthly closing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
- Establish and improve financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to provide input on management reporting needs and gain deeper insights into actual performance.
- Strategic Financial Modeling & Decision Support
- Build sophisticated financial models from scratch and enhance existing models for strategic decision-making.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize financial performance and improve cost efficiencies.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and business case development for key initiatives.
Qualifications & Attributes
We’re seeking someone who embodies the following:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.
- CFA, CPA, or MBA is a plus.
Experience
- 4+ years of professional experience, with 2+ years in the TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom) sector preferred.
- Experience in budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
- Financial controlling experience is a plus.
Technical Skills
Must-haves:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills to review weekly/monthly performance.
- Experience working with accounting systems such as SAP.
- Fluency in English & Spanish (mandatory).
Nice-to-haves:
- Additional languages beyond English & Spanish.
- Prior experience working in a hybrid work environment.
