Role Purpose

Why this role matters:

As Telecom Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in leading compliance and risk management for our Middle East telecom operations. Your contributions will help shape the compliance framework across Oman, Kuwait, and KSA, ensuring alignment with both local telecom regulations and the company's global compliance standards.

In your first year, you will:

  • Ensure full regulatory compliance across all Middle East telecom operations, mitigating risks and avoiding potential penalties.
  • Establish strong relationships with local regulatory bodies, securing a proactive and cooperative compliance approach.
  • Develop and implement robust risk assessment frameworks, integrating compliance best practices into business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead compliance efforts across all Middle East telecom operations (KSA, Oman, and Kuwait), ensuring products, services, and operations (e.g., CRF, BCP, Marketing, IT) adhere to telecom laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to evaluate and mitigate regulatory risks, integrating risk management practices into strategic business decisions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting while managing compliance inquiries and maintaining strong relationships with local regulators.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to each OpCo’s telecom operations, ensuring alignment with both local regulations and the group's global compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with local regulatory teams to ensure adherence to regional telecom requirements, providing ongoing compliance support and guidance.
  • Monitor regulatory changes across the Middle East, advising senior management on their impact and identifying potential business opportunities arising from new regulations.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees across all departments on telecom regulations and best practices.
  • Lead investigations into compliance breaches, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and internal controls are strengthened.

Qualifications & Attributes

Education:

  • Relevant Education Degree: Bachelor’s in Business, Law, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of experience in compliance and risk management within the telecom industry or a highly regulated environment.
  • Proven experience managing telecom compliance and risk in the Middle East, particularly in KSA, Oman, and Kuwait.
  • Experience leading and mentoring compliance teams across multiple regions, ensuring consistent regulatory adherence.

Technical Skills:

Must-haves:

  • In-depth knowledge of telecom regulations within the Middle East, including regulatory standards for products, services, and operations (e.g., Customer Protection, CRF, BCP, Marketing, IT).
  • Hands-on experience with compliance tools, risk management processes, and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, business units, and external regulators.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in regulatory reporting processes and proactive engagement with telecom regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with risk modeling tools and compliance automation technologies.
