Role Overview
We are looking for an Oracle Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Oracle databases, optimizing performance, and ensuring secure and reliable operation across on-premise and cloud environments. You will work closely with technical teams to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance complex database infrastructures.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle databases in on-premise and cloud environments.
- Manage database users, permissions, roles, and security policies.
- Monitor database performance and perform performance tuning using tools like Statspack & AWR.
- Review developer scripts to ensure safety, compliance, and best practices.
- Handle upgrades, patches, migrations, and replication (e.g., Active Dataguard, GoldenGate).
- Collaborate with security, network, and systems teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration or a similar role.
- Strong expertise in Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with RMAN, replication methods, archiving, and backup strategies.
- Solid skills in SQL, PL/SQL, Linux shell scripting, and experience with Oracle Linux or AIX.
- Ability to monitor systems proactively, identify risks, and ensure database reliability and integrity.
- Strong communication skills for working with developers, project managers, and technical teams.
Nice to Haves
- Certifications such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Associate or similar.
- Experience with ticketing platforms like JIRA or ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with database design phases and technical documentation best practices.
