Role Overview
We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA). In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing database systems, ensuring data integrity and availability, and supporting development and operations teams with reliable and secure data solutions. You will play a key role in maintaining performance, scalability, and resilience across all database environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Administer, monitor, and maintain production and development databases to ensure high performance and availability.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data and minimize downtime.
- Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query analysis.
- Manage user access and security controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Support application and infrastructure teams in designing and deploying new database solutions.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing service disruption.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar data management role.
- Strong hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Solid understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and replication techniques.
- Knowledge of backup/recovery tools, high availability configurations, and monitoring systems.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and reliability.
Nice to Haves
- Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) or cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Database certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) is a plus.
