About the role:
The Manila team is responsible for maintaining and improving FT Specialist’s database of institutional investors and analyzing the investment activities of institutional investors in Europe, North America and Asia, Middle East and Africa.
The FT Specialist Researcher will bring strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to embrace and adapt to new technologies. Researchers will be expected to be willing to work hours to coincide with the New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Database Management - Ensure data integrity by undertaking data cleansing activities, which involve amending or removing incorrect, incomplete, improperly formatted, or duplicated data in a database. Additionally, enhance and expand existing databases by adding new investors, incorporating additional data points, and improving the overall structure and quality of the dataset to support evolving business needs.
- Market Research - Know basics of the asset management industry and aware of developments within it. Research corporate filings, company websites, press releases and other publicly available documents to find key information that makes the directories valuable and provide actionable insights that will support business decisions. Upload information to the directories using MandateWire content management system (CMS).
- Investor Communication and Information Gathering - Contact investors via email to gather or confirm information not available on company websites. Ensure accurate and up-to-date details are recorded based on responses.
- Lead Generation - Pull together new sources of information that can generate leads for reporters.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation - Demonstrates proficiency in analyzing complex datasets using advanced Excel skills to generate actionable insights, identify trends, and support decision-making.
- Technical Adaptability - Exhibits a strong ability to learn and effectively utilize emerging technologies, including AI and automation tools, to enhance productivity and streamline processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate of Bachelor's Degree related to Economics, Finance, or Business Administration or similar.
- Minimum of 1 year online research experience with working knowledge in MS Office and any Content Management System.
- Attention to detail – Able to pay attention to details and to verify the correctness or errors in procedure
- Information Management – Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information
- Customer Service – Works with clients and customers to provide information and assistance and knows available products and services
- Accuracy – Can consistently deliver work of a high standard of quality, precision, and according to standards and procedures, and without errors.
- Communication – Effectively conveys information and expresses thoughts and facts both written and verbal.
- Innovative – Ability to evaluate challenges and recommend new opportunities.
- Agility – Ability to adapt quickly, embrace change, and navigate challenges with speed and efficiency. A key strength in a dynamic team, ensuring resilience and continuous progress.
