Job Purpose
Work with the Head of Marketing & Senior Marketing Manager to develop the marketing strategies to drive event registrations and deliver all event marketing across FT Specialist brands.
This job entails promoting numerous events, conferences, awards and webinars and will require skills across a broad range of subject areas. This includes driving delegate acquisition and helping to formulate and implement events. It will require the ability to identify, support and deliver campaigns for specific audiences and regions as well as broader initiatives across the department. The role will work closely with internal team members to research and coordinate our market outreach, seeking to increase the revenues that we derive from delegates as well as delivering an audience that reflects the quality and seniority expected of FT Specialist events.
Another element of the role is helping to support the event sales team by creating media kits, and providing audience information and data when needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing to plan, implement, handle and analyse print and digital marketing activity to drive event registrations. Campaigns will include; email, social, print & online advertising
- Build new audiences for events through data research and work on audience segmentations
- Report on marketing activities carried out for sponsors and for internal collaborators
- Work optimally with the FT Live design team to produce marketing collateral and other required graphic designs for all marketing activities, ensuring the brand guidelines are adhered to
- Work closely with other parts of the FT Specialist marketing team, FT Live and the wider FT where appropriate to ensure collaborations are carried out to drive quality reach
- Ensure all activity fully supports the wider FT brand proposition and delivers “through the line” integration of communications and messaging
- Stay up to date with sector and industry trends (for example, changes in digital marketing) and ensure that current marketing strategies are in line with these
Events
- Identify and implement key initiatives and marketing activities to acquire delegates for all events
- Work closely with the ops team, sales team and content team to ensure speaker, delegates & sponsors' needs are met
- Brief, send and measure email campaigns to drive registrations and delegate bookings
- Build and maintain mini-sites and registration pages
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications / Competencies / Skills / Experience
Essential
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent creative judgement and copy-writing skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a timely manner
- Self-starter with high energy and initiative - able to handle up, down and across the organisation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate capability with Microsoft Office Suite/ Google Suite, in particular, Excel (including formulas, charts, graphs etc) and PowerPoint
Desirable
- Exposure to and knowledge of media/publishing
- Graduate or professional qualification in Marketing or a related Business area
- Experience in digital marketing and events, including organic and paid social media campaigns
- 1 year of marketing experience
