About the role:
The Accounting Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting services team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial services. The role involves leading a team of accounting professionals, improving processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, and supporting key financial initiatives across the organization.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Lead and handle the Accounting Services team, including supervision, performance management, coaching, and development of team members.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of accounting operations including P2P, and R2R functions.
- Be responsible for the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), internal controls, and company policies.
- Partner with internal collaborators (e.g., FP&A, Procurement, Treasury) and external auditors to ensure smooth audits and financial reporting.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Supervise important metrics and SLAs for the accounting services team and take corrective action when vital.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives related to accounting operations.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure process documentation is up-to-date.
- Perform and participate in tasks and special projects that may be assigned from time to time and whenever needed. Keep special projects updated timely to all partners.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy or Finance and/or equivalent courses.
- Certification of Public Accountancy is preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in accounting services management with a minimum of three (3) years managerial experience, preferably from global shared services environments and/or multinational companies.
- Preferably with Oracle Fusion, Coupa, PowerBI, PowerQuery, Tungsten, Fresh Service background but not required.

- Technical Skills - This includes a proven understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP or IFRS to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting. It also involves proficiency in Excel and financial tools for data analysis, reporting, modeling, and performing sophisticated calculations.
- Business Acumen - This competency involves understanding the industry, thinking strategically, and leading financial planning. It includes knowledge of market trends, competitors, and regulations to make informed decisions. Critical thinking enables long-term planning aligned with business goals, while budgeting and forecasting support financial stability and effective resource allocation.
- Leadership - ability to develop teams optimally by planning, organizing, and fostering collaboration to achieve goals. Strong leadership also involves resolving conflicts through open communication and problem-solving. Additionally, coaching and mentoring team members supports their development, enhances performance, and builds a culture of continuous learning.
- Interpersonal - ability to communicate clearly, influence others, and build strong relationships with diverse collaborators. Key competencies involve active listening, effective verbal and written communication, partner management, and collaboration. These skills are essential for gaining support, fostering partnership, and driving shared success across the organization.
- Analytical - ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make informed decisions. Key competencies involve using data analysis to uncover insights, applying critical thinking to resolve challenges, and evaluating options to choose the best course of action. These skills support effective decision-making, process improvement, and achieving business goals.
- Project Management - ability to lead change, plan projects effectively, handle time, and mitigate risks. Key competencies involve developing detailed project plans, setting priorities, coordinating sources, and ensuring timely execution. Strong project management skills enable successful delivery of initiatives, support organizational change, and help navigate risks to achieve desired outcomes.
