PLM-DMU Integrator Engineer
Position Summary:
The PLM–DMU Integrator Engineer ensures the accuracy, maturity, and integration of the aircraft Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and associated PLM configuration throughout the development lifecycle. Operating at the interface between design engineering, systems integration, configuration management, and manufacturing engineering, the engineer guarantees a coherent digital product definition aligned with program baselines, certification requirements, and industrial constraints.
This role is central to ensuring that all aircraft systems—structures, propulsion, avionics, electrical, mechanical systems, interiors—integrate correctly within the 3D environment, enabling design convergence, industrialization, verification, and certification.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PLM / Data Management
- Manage and maintain PLM structures (configurations, baselines, effectivities, change orders).
- Ensure correct metadata, versioning, and release status for all parts and assemblies.
- Validate engineering changes (ECR/ECO) from a DMU & PLM impact perspective.
- Guarantee alignment between 3D models and the official system architecture defined in the PLM.
- Support digital continuity across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
2. DMU Integration & 3D Configuration
- Build, update, and validate system, aircraft-level including Test Rigs digital mock-ups.
- Perform clash analysis, interface validation, and multidisciplinary integration checks.
- Ensure installation feasibility and coherency between mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and avionics 3D data.
- Drive resolution of integration issues through coordination with design owners.
- Prepare DMU content for PDR/CDR/MRB reviews and program milestones.
3. Processes & Continuing Improvement
- Define and enforce modeling rules, naming conventions, and PLM/DMU standards.
- Provide guidance to designers on CAD methodologies and correct PLM usage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of PLM processes, workflows, and tools.
4. Support Function (Manufacturing / Verification / Certification)
- Validate assembly feasibility through the DMU (tooling access, tolerances, mounting paths).
- Provide DMU data to manufacturing engineering, methods, and production teams.
- Ensure DMU represents the certified configuration baseline.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in systems engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field.
- 3–10+ years in DMU, CAD/PLM, or systems installation within aerospace programs.
- Understanding of aircraft architecture, systems integration, and certification workflows.
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and solve complex integration issues.
- English – Business Level, Japanese – Asset when coordinating with internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 (assembly, surface, space reservation, clash analysis).
- Strong expertise with PLM platforms (ARAS INNOVATOR, TEAMCENTER, 3DEXPERIENCE).
- Solid understanding of aircraft systems, installation constraints, and multidisciplinary integration.
- Knowledge of configuration management processes and engineering change control.
- Ability to interpret system architecture diagrams, ICDs, and engineering specifications.
- Familiarity with certification standards (e.g., ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160 if aerospace).
What We Offer:
- Strong communication skills to interact with design owners, systems engineers, manufacturing, and program management.
- High rigor, attention to detail, and ownership of integration issues.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical topics concisely.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
