Why this role matters

Technical Leader drives the technical direction and system architecture of projects while ensuring adherence to technical standards. Collaborating closely with architects, product managers, and engineering teams, the goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that align with business goals and foster long-term technical excellence.

What you'll actually do

  • Develop and maintain the system architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and alignment with business goals.
  • Close collaboration with the tribe's architect: each technical leader in the teams acts as the right-hand person of the architect, helping to implement architectural decisions at the team level.
  • Lead architectural discussions and provide recommendations on technical solutions within and outside the team.
  • Ensure the alignment of architectural decisions with the tribe’s overall strategy and key business requirements.
  • Participation in the creation of architectural visions for business issues according to the company's current procedure (currently using LenaIx).
  • Keeping the LeanIx fact-sheet registry for applications and IT components of his team up to date.
  • Set and enforce technical standards and practices to ensure consistency in code quality, security, and performance.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and audits to ensure adherence to these standards.
  • Lead the technical aspects of the project, ensuring alignment between the product requirements and technical implementation.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with other teams, both internal and external, to align technical efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Facilitate code reuse across projects and ensure seamless collaboration between teams.
  • Mentor and train junior and mid-level developers, fostering growth and encouraging best practices.
  • Lead technical learning initiatives within the team, ensuring continuous skill development.
  • Participate in technical interviews.
  • Solve complex technical problems, offering solutions that improve efficiency, performance, or scalability.
  • Act as the go-to person for addressing critical technical challenges and providing support during critical incidents.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize technical debt, ensuring that it is addressed as part of the ongoing development process.
  • Develop strategies to manage and reduce technical debt while balancing business and technical needs.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to guide decision-making and track progress on technical improvements.
  • Use data-driven insights to drive optimizations and improvements in the development process.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Lead the integration and adoption of new tools and frameworks where appropriate.
  • Keep the team’s assets in the service catalog up to date.
  • Manage requirements for the team’s clusters and their resources.
  • Document key technical decisions, processes, and best practices to ensure clarity and transparency across the team.
  • Promote a culture of inner source development by encouraging internal community growth and collaboration.
