Platform Engineer

Cyprus

Why this role matters

You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure and internal developer platforms that power our data streaming and processing capabilities. This role focuses on DevOps practices and site reliability for critical systems including Kafka, Flink, and Temporal. It involves managing services on on-premise Kubernetes clusters, ensuring seamless CI/CD workflows, and automating infrastructure provisioning to ensure high availability, scalability, and developer efficiency.

The role is based in our Limassol office, Cyprus. In case of relocation, we offer full relocation support for you and your family to make your move smooth and worry-free.

What you'll actually do

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain high-throughput streaming clusters (Kafka, Kafka Connect) and manage cross-cluster replication using Mirror Maker 2 to ensure low latency, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage and scale Temporal clusters to support reliable workflow orchestration across the organization.
  • Maintain and optimize services running on on-premise Kubernetes clusters.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform; ensure state consistency and reproducibility across environments.
  • Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and manage deployments via ArgoCD following GitOps best practices.
  • Develop automation scripts and internal tooling using Python (and optionally Golang) to reduce toil and improve engineering productivity.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting using Grafana, Alert Manager, and Pager Duty to proactively detect issues and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all platform components adhere to security best practices, access controls, and compliance requirements.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant certifications (Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Associate, or similar) are optional but beneficial.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience managing streaming and orchestration platforms: Kafka, Kafka Connect, Mirror Maker 2, Flink, and Temporal.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting (specifically on-premise environments preferred).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Strong knowledge of GitOps principles and tools, specifically ArgoCD and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in observability and incident management tools: Grafana, Alert Manager, and Pager Duty.
  • Solid programming skills in Python for automation and tooling.
  • Knowledge of Golang or Java is a strong plus.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use advanced English for different work and business purposes.
  • Capacity for critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Decision-making skills and the ability to adapt to new changes.
  • Ability to write concise and clear technical documentation.
  • Capability of dealing with constructive criticism and collaborating with development teams to achieve common goals.
