The role
The Data Steward at TNW will be responsible for data governance, ensuring data integrity and compliance across all departments. This role involves managing data quality, implementing data standards, and coordinating with IT & marketing for seamless data integration. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in data management tools. Responsibilities
Governance, Stewardship & Compliance

Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, accessibility, and security. Develop a plan for this going forward.

Collaborate with IT, security, and business units to establish data standards and stewardship principles, aligning with organisational goals and the Financial Times’s data governance frameworks.

Work with the Financial Times’s Compliance team to ensure that processes and procedures are implemented in line with Financial Times’s guidance and policies on how to comply with GDPR/other (Dutch) data protection laws.

Serve as a key liaison between business and technical teams, translating business requirements into data solutions and championing data quality and governance best practices.

Deliver training and guidance on data management and ownershipprinciples, advocating for best practices in data quality and security.

Establish access policies to ensure data is accessible to authorised personnel, while maintaining compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR, CCPA and Dutch data protection regulations.

Establish a template to undertake regular data audits and compliance reviews, to ensure adherence to data governance standards and regulations, and how they should be undertaken in the future.
Data Quality & Cleansing

Develop metadata, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation to improve data transparency and usability, with a plan to how this will be maintained in the future.

Lead data cleansing activities, employing strategies for deduplication, validation, and correction to maintain high data quality and accuracy.

Monitor and manage data quality to address data inconsistencies and inaccuracies, ensuring data integrity.

Create an action plan of what data requires remediation in the future, with a template for how to accomplish this.
Your knowledge & skills

Proven experience in a data steward role.

Experience of driving process change.
-
Experience of working with Legal & Compliance on the implications of relevant Dutch laws on previous projects is preferred.

Good communication and presentation skills.

A self starter who has proven to take initiative.

Strong team-building skills with a demonstrable ability to develop cultural change.

Degree or equivalent experience.

Proficient in English. Knowledge of additional languages, such as Dutch, will be viewed favorably.
