About the role:
The Financial Accountant will responsible for intercompany accounting across all FT entities, which includes but is not limited to booking intercompany transactions, investigating intercompany differences and preparing balance sheet reconciliations for intercompany accounts. This role also provides assistance with fixed asset accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the fixed assets process, including asset capitalization, depreciation, retirements, impairments, and related accounting functions.
- Prepare and deliver accurate global fixed asset reports to support financial reporting and strategic analysis.
- Process intercompany settlements and manage regional intercompany confirmations across all regions
- Perform other month end tasks including reparation of journal entries and revaluation spot checks
- Act as a liaison with external auditors and coordinate with FT finance teams to ensure timely and accurate responses to audit requests, while monitoring and tracking audit deliverables throughout the process.
- Maintain and submit Office of the National Statistics (ONS) surveys in line with compliance requirements.
- Prepare half-year and year-end schedules for FT Group reporting to the parent company, Nikkei.
- Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements for FT Group entities in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Assist UK team with ad hoc tasks as required
- Perform internal journal controls testing
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial and/or management accounting, ideally in a multinational or complex business environment.
- Proficiency in Oracle Fusion and Essbase, or similar financial systems, is preferred.
- Experience in a publishing/advertising/media environment
- Preferably Certified Public Accountant
