The Role / Position Overview

Financial Times Live (FT Live) is the conferences and events division of the Financial Times newspaper and its group publications. Our mission is to bring our global executive audiences the very latest in knowledge and opinion, and connect them to one another.

Chaired by senior FT journalists, the 200-plus core events, strategic forums and digital webinars organised by FT Live every year gather pre-eminent public and private sector decision-makers, visionaries and strategists from the world’s most important economies and industries for agenda-setting debates that cover the key issues of our time.

From unique experiences such as the FTWeekend Festival to our senior-level business summits such as the award winning Global Boardroom, FT Live has become one of the FT Group’s most successful and fastest-growing divisions, and is at the forefront of the FT’s accelerated development as an essential, interactive information source across numerous platforms.

FT Live is currently recruiting for a Senior Content Editor to work across two of our event portfolios: Energy, Commodities and Climate; and Banking and Finance. These are two of the biggest and fastest growing event portfolios in FT Live, and include the world renowned Commodities Global Summit in Lausanne and the Global Banking Summit in London. They are also portfolios that have grown in the past year, through the launch of the new Energy Transition Summits in Asia and Southeastern Europe, and the Banking Summit Asia. All of these events involve FT Live team members working very closely with leading FT journalists who report on these sectors.

  • Design and deliver high-impact event programmes across digital, hybrid, and in-person formats, ensuring they are timely, relevant, and engaging.
  • Secure credible speakers through strategic research, outreach, and relationship management.
  • Craft compelling editorial content to support sponsorship proposals and sales pitches.
  • Generate fresh ideas for global flagship events, chipping in to the evolution of our portfolio.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FT journalists, sponsorship, project management, marketing, and social media teams to ensure cohesive event execution and promotion.
  • Write persuasive marketing copy for event assets including emails, ads, brochures, and social media content.
  • Lead speaker communications and drive content production before, during, and after events, including live coverage and post-event deliverables.
  • Integrate FT editorial and digital assets to elevate the content and reach of FT Live events.

Required Skills / Experience

  • Shown experience in B2B events or conference production.
  • Consistent record in launching or growing editorial-led business events.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating across functions in a global, fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with the Energy and/or Finance sectors.
  • Knowledge of digital content strategies and platforms.
