Financial Controller

This new position is created due to significant and fast growth of the business in the last 3-4 years and to support its amazing growth plan either organically and/or through M&A. As the Financial Controller, you will be part of the team that has overall responsibility for all consolidated statutory and management reporting.
You will assist divisional finance teams in ensuring Group policies have been adopted appropriately, assessing appropriate accounting treatments, and supporting the Group Finance Reporting Manager and Group Financial Controllers.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in group consolidations, financial controls and technical accounting
- Has a highly developed ability to apply accounting standards (IFRS) and financial policies in a complex organisation, balancing control requirements with the achievement of commercial outcomes
- Strong academics, including degree level education and likely Big 4 background with 3-4 years PQE
- Has experience of working in a multi-cultural and multi-location environment with an ability to work independently and prioritise workload as part of a geographically dispersed team
- Beneficial to have experience in complex group accounting matters such as business combinations, share-based payments and impairment reviews
- Is enthusiastic and has the ability to take initiative and provide direction to others
- Is organised self-starter, with drive and ambition to quickly make an impact within an evolving business
- Has strong project management skills with an attention to detail
- Is fluent in English with exceptional writing capabilities
- Is an excellent communicator and a team player, with ability to build close relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
What you'll be doing:
- As part of the Group Finance team, working to build an effective Finance leadership function alongside creating and implementing standardised business frameworks that drive timely and accurate closing of the general ledger monthly and harmonise financial reporting to maximize business results
- Producing monthly financial reporting and accounts for both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with Working capital management and balance sheet discipline and maintenance
- Assist in the annual audit process including preparation of accounting papers and note disclosures alongside liaison with external auditors
- Drive excellence in technical accounting through providing training and support to divisional teams
- Undertake variance analysis to explain underlying business events and associated accounting
- Carry out independent technical analysis and preparation of judgement papers with input on any potential GAAP conversions
- Championing process improvement to the consolidation control framework through critically reviewing existing processes, make recommendations for improvement and implement operationally
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks
