Senior Quality & Information Security Manager - QMS / ISMS / AQAP (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, systems-minded and execution-strong Senior Governance & Certification Manager (m/f/d) to build and scale ARX Robotics’ governance and certification backbone across quality, information security and defence-specific assurance requirements.

This is a role in which you will translate fast-moving growth, product complexity and customer, regulatory and contractual expectations into a pragmatic, audit-ready management system that works in the real world and not just on paper.

You will work closely with Engineering, Production, IT, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, People and Leadership to establish an integrated operating model across ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, BSI-oriented security practices, AQAP / defence quality requirements and internal governance. You will help shape a small, high-performing team that creates clarity, discipline and speed in a high-intensity dual-use environment.

Your impact at ARX Robotics

• Build and continuously improve ARX Robotics’ integrated governance and certification framework across QMS, ISMS and defence-oriented assurance requirements.
• Design and implement the core management-system architecture, including policies, procedures, templates, registers, governance cadences, evidence concepts and control ownership models.
• Own readiness for internal and external audits, certification activities and customer assessments and coordinate the preparation of robust, decision-ready evidence packages.
• Translate ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, AQAP and customer or contractual requirements into pragmatic controls, repeatable routines and clear responsibilities across the organization.
• Drive risk management, corrective actions, nonconformity handling, management reviews, training and awareness topics together with the relevant business owners.
• Build and maintain a strong cross-functional control-owner network across Business Development, Engineering, Production, IT, Supply Chain, Operations and corporate functions.
• Define and monitor governance KPIs, maturity indicators and action tracking to provide transparency to leadership and accelerate execution.
• Act as the central sparring partner for governance, certification and audit-readiness topics, balancing rigor with startup speed and operational reality.
• Coach and develop the junior role in the team, creating a structured environment for learning, ownership and consistently high-quality output.

Must-have

• Proven experience in building, implementing or maturing integrated governance, quality, compliance or information security systems in a growing, greenfield or highly dynamic environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO/IEC 27001 implementation, audit preparation, certification readiness or control design.
• Experience translating abstract standards and customer requirements into practical processes, roles, decision points and documented evidence.
• Strong background in policies, SOPs, documented information, risk treatment, CAPA / corrective actions, internal controls, audit follow-up and management review preparation.
• Ability to work credibly with technical and operational teams and to drive execution across Engineering, Production, IT and business stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication and structuring skills, with the ability to create clear, usable and audit-ready documentation.
• A calm, low-ego, coaching-oriented working style, able to handle ambiguity, resolve friction constructively and raise the performance of others.
• Business-fluent English and German.

Nice to have

• Experience with AQAP, defence quality assurance requirements or customer assurance topics in the defence / dual-use sector.
• Exposure to BSI IT-Grundschutz, ISO/IEC 27001, NIS2, TISAX or adjacent governance frameworks.
• Qualification or experience as an internal auditor for ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001 or similar standards.
• Experience in a hardware-software startup, robotics, autonomous systems, industrial or regulated product environment.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence and structured evidence / action-tracking workflows.
