Legal Counsel

Inbank is a financial technology company with an EU banking license that connects merchants, consumers, and financial institutions on its next-generation embedded finance platform. Our financing solutions are embedded seamlessly into the shopping journey of 6,000+ retailers. This helps our merchant partners grow their businesses, while end customers benefit from a frictionless shopping experience wherever they are. With a focus on innovation and growth, we are looking for talented people to join our team of 440+ working across our offices in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
Due to our growth ambitions, we are seeking an experienced, solution-driven, and business-minded Legal Counsel to join our newly forming Product Legal Team as its second member. This is a great opportunity to help build the legal architecture for all of Inbank’s products and to play a central role in shaping how product development works across five countries.
What will you be doing?
You will operate at the intersection of product, technology and regulation—where the most important decisions about our future products are made. Working closely with our 230+ person Product & Tech organisation, you will help design scalable, compliant and user-centric solutions across Inbank’s product portfolio, including hire purchase, leasing, BNPL, full-service rental, deposits, green finance, car loans, home improvement loans and other D2C consumer credit products.
As Inbank operates an embedded finance model integrated into thousands of merchant journeys across Europe, your work will directly shape how both merchants and customers experience our products. Strong time and project management skills are essential, as you will coordinate multi-country input, manage timelines, structure complex topics and ensure smooth execution of group-level product legal initiatives.
Your key responsibilities:
Legal architecture and frameworks
- Develop group-level legal frameworks for core products, defining baseline standards and identifying necessary local variations.
- Contribute to major initiatives such as CCD2 implementation and new strategic product launches.
Cross-border legal coordination
- Coordinate local legal input from five markets and translate it into clear group-level guidance.
- Align multi-country interpretations and provide pragmatic, business-friendly advice.
Product development and strategic initiatives
- Support teams throughout the full product lifecycle: discovery → validation → build → scale → sunset.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear, simple and actionable language.
- Support strategic partnerships across products, ecosystems and platforms.
- Contribute to standardised terms, clause libraries and negotiation playbooks to increase consistency across markets.
To be successful in this role, you ideally bring
- At least 4 years of proven previous experience as an in-house legal advisor in financial services, fintech or another fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, banking/finance law and consumer financing regulation.
- Strong project management skills, including end-to-end ownership of initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and complex timelines.
- Interest in the full product lifecycle and understanding of underlying business processes.
- Sound judgment supported by cost-benefit thinking.
- Strong ownership, prioritisation and time management skills, with a “can-do” mindset.
- Excellent collaboration skills when working with international, cross-functional product, technology and business teams.
If this role excites you, but you don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives and believe that great people grow into great roles.
Why you’ll enjoy working here?
