Role Overview
The Revenue Operations Expert plays a critical role in ensuring data consistency and driving strategic insights for the commercial team. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining the Commercial KPI Framework, providing qualitative input to management, and establishing an early warning system to identify deviations between actual performance and targets. The Revenue Operations Expert reports to the VP Commercial Operations and interfaces with Sales, Customer Success and Marketing Operations, FP&A, BI, and Product Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial KPI Framework:
Continuously improve data capture processes, ensuring accurate reporting and seamless integration across commercial and financial systems.
Collaborate with the Commercial Systems & Development Team to ensure system optimization for data consistency and trend monitoring.
- Develop and maintain the Commercial KPI Framework to measure performance across marketing, sales and customer success to picture the customer journey from lead to churn.
- Ensure the framework is aligned with both commercial objectives and financial reporting standards.
- Provide qualitative insights for management, highlighting gaps between actual order intakes, revenues, and targets.
- Deliver detailed comments on individual accounts and identify trends or triggers that may indicate potential deviations from targets.
- Develop an early warning system within the KPI framework to detect and communicate emerging issues or risks to commercial performance.
Management Reporting & Insights:
- Provide regular reports to management on the health of commercial operations, including key insights on deviations, risks, and opportunities.
- Help management make data-driven decisions by delivering actionable insights from the commercial KPI set.
- Support & drive annual budgeting exercise of the commercial team, act as interface to Finance for that matter.
Data Consistency & Quality:
- Ensure that all data inputs from Sales, Customer Success and Marketing Operations are accurate, consistent, and aligned with financial data from FP&A and BI.
- Collaborate with FP&A, BI, and Product Operations to align commercial data with financial forecasts and product metrics
Collaboration with FP&A, BI, and Product Operations:
- Act as the key liaison between commercial teams and Finance, ensuring that revenue data aligns with financial forecasts and actuals.
- Work closely with the FP&A and BI teams to ensure that commercial data is fully integrated into financial reports and aligns with financial forecasts and budgets.
- Partner with Product Operations to ensure all product-related KPIs and pricing data are captured and integrated into revenue reporting.
Process Improvement & Standardization:
- Continuously improve data capture processes, ensuring accurate reporting and seamless integration across commercial and financial systems.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Systems & Development Team to ensure system optimization for data consistency and trend monitoring.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in revenue operations, data management, or a related field, with strong experience in financial alignment and product reporting.
- Proven ability to deliver insights and identify trends or risks in performance data.
- Experience working with FP&A, BI, and Product Operations teams.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, reporting platforms, and financial/product reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple functions.
