This position is available in Munich, Germany, or Rennes, France.
IDnow is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our team of 10 security professionals—including both managers and engineers—across France and Germany. As a team, we are responsible for a broad range of security duties, including maintaining and evolving the company’s Information Security Management System (ISMS), driving security training and awareness, securing product infrastructure, conducting security monitoring and vulnerability management, performing penetration tests, developing and reviewing threat models, and supporting a secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We work collaboratively to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of our organization, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to protect our business and our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex assessments, threat models, and advanced penetration tests.
- Guide others in identifying and mitigating security risks.
- Design and refine alerting and detection rules, and conduct thorough investigations of complex incidents.
- Remediate complex incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Own and improve security tools, and introduce new ones if necessary.
- Conduct complex design and architecture reviews.
- Provide solid guidance and recommendations to other teams.
- Ensure security requirements are integrated into system configurations.
- Participate in new vendor evaluation workshops to give security guidance.
- Create in-depth analysis on complex security issues and provide strategic recommendations.
- Design and deploy advanced security automation solutions.
Preferred Experience
- Higher education degree in Cybersecurity.
- Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and penetration testing.
- Strong background in risk assessment, security monitoring, and incident response.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure security, application security, and cryptography.
- Experience in threat modeling, cloud security, and scripting.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong team spirit, adaptability, and continuous learning mindset.
- Hands-on, solution-oriented approach with attention to detail in documentation.
- Creative hacker mentality, autonomous, and self-motivated.
- Offensive security skills, AWS knowledge, and software development background are beneficial.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German and French is appreciated.
