About the Role
The Cost Estimation service exists to cut through ambiguity, bringing together business-wide data points to provide easily accessible outputs. Our goal is to empower internal customers with the clear insights they need to make strategic business decisions.
As a conduit between our Cost Estimation service and internal customers in Business Development or Global Delivery, you'll use your specialist skills to deliver crucial cost estimates. These typically cover the installation, maintenance, and operation of our proprietary technology solutions. You'll achieve this by collaborating closely with a wide variety of subject matter experts.
Your primary responsibility will be to execute these projects in a timely manner, ensuring the outputs meet the required level of accuracy for a diverse range of stakeholders. You'll work with cross-functional teams to clearly communicate cost drivers, present proposals to stakeholders, and actively support commercial discussions.
What you will be do
- Lead the estimation phase for prospective projects, coordinating cross-functional input, validating commercial assumptions, and ensuring scope alignment before handover to Project Delivery teams.
- Provide financial insights and budgetary support for global MHE technology solution projects, from pre-sales activities through to project delivery.
- Estimate and manage costs associated with the long-term maintenance and repair of MHE technology solutions at client locations globally.
- Support strategic planning and financial forecasting by assessing resource requirements for operational departments based on anticipated sales.
- Collaborate closely with internal customers to define the scope, priorities, schedule, and desired outcomes for projects.
- Act as a conduit to our subject matter experts, effectively communicating, extracting, collating, and presenting complex information in an accessible way for less informed audiences.
- Work closely with project management to monitor and analyze project performance against initial plans, focusing on scope, resources, schedule, and cost, and identifying any deviations from the original budget.
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Product Managers, Project Delivery, and Supply Chain Analysts to understand estimation requirements and sources of estimating model inputs.
- Support global cost reduction initiatives, providing project management and reporting capabilities for cross-functional execution.
- Define, roll out, and maintain effective methodologies to ensure the team's success for our customers, focusing on sustainability and repeatability.
- Define, roll out, and maintain robust reporting tools that provide clear and accurate visibility of our estimation inputs to our customers.
Skills and Experience anf Qualification
Minimum
- This role is suitable for a graduate with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Schedule, budget, requirements and risk management
- Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- IT literate - Google Workplace / MS Office applications (Inc MS Project, PowerPoint & Excel proficiency). Google Software Suite.
Preferred (in addition to minimum)
- Experience working in the Engineering, Construction or Manufacturing
- Experience in mechanical engineering / robotic / automation sectors
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management or equivalent
- Analytical with mathematical or data analyst interest or experience
