About the role (12 months Secondment)

Ocado Technology is at the core of Ocado Group, with a mission to create and support Ocado's pioneering automated technology platforms globally. We're looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team and support the Technology Operations Supply Chain.

This role involves highly visible and business-critical activities, including the Sales & Operations planning cycle. This cycle is crucial for aligning procurement with demand, which helps to reduce obsolescence risk. You'll also contribute to the continual improvement of cash flow forecasting and the execution of new manufacturing arrangements for products like Metal Totes, 600s Bots, and Porters.

Your primary responsibilities will be to provide insights into centrally procured spend, advise and support your business partners, and contribute to process improvement and transformation initiatives. If you are a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, technology-driven environment and are ready to make a tangible impact, this might be the role for you.

Accountabilities

This Senior Finance Business Partner role offers a unique opportunity to drive significant financial strategy and operational excellence within a global technology leader. Here is what makes this role stand out:

  • Strategic Influence on Executive Decisions: You will directly impact high-level decisions by modelling the financial impact of demand plans on inventory, capex, and cash flow for presentations to the Executive group. This includes proactively identifying and raising risks and challenges in demand and investment, using your insights to shape the future of our global supply chain.
  • Driving Commercial Value & Innovation: You will identify and lead initiatives that generate significant commercial value. This means finding opportunities for cost efficiencies, process improvements, and strategic investments that directly contribute to our growth.
  • Shaping Global Product Launches: Play a crucial role in bringing cutting-edge technology to life. This includes working closely with project managers to support investments in new manufacturing contracts and the global distribution of exciting new products like Metal Totes, the 600s Bot, and Porter.
  • Strengthening Financial Expertise: An opportunity to deepen your expertise by reviewing capital expenditure proposals, supporting the budgeting process, and undertaking P&L and Capex re-forecasting. A key focus will also be on maintaining and enhancing financial controls, ensuring robust balance sheet accuracy.
  • Building Strong Partnerships & Driving Improvement: This role is highly collaborative. Provide accurate and insightful financial storytelling while offering both support and challenge to the Technology Operations Supply Chain teams. You will also drive continuous improvements to business processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.
  • High Visibility & Ad-Hoc Commercial Involvement: Involvement in highly visible activities and proactively support Supply Chain with diverse ad-hoc commercial activities, ensuring no two days are the same.

About you

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant with 2+ years PQE
  • Minimum 2:1 degree and other strong academic record are essential

Preferred (in addition to minimum):
