About the Role
The role of a Senior Product Improvement Engineer plays a crucial role throughout the product lifecycle of Ocado MHE, from development to maturation and long-term support. This involves defining technical requirements, influencing design choices with data, mitigating potential failures and executing comprehensive test strategies. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, conducting root cause analysis, and providing expert product support to optimise performance and address issues both during development and post product launch.
- Define and support technical requirements and functional analysis for new products, influencing design with data.
- Predict and mitigate future failures through DFMEA and robust hardware/software design.
- Lead, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies (DVP&R), including planning, procuring, and operating test rigs and prototypes.
- Ensure H&S compliance through risk assessments and ergonomic considerations.
- Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams on manufacturing data and SOPs.
- Drive product improvement loops post-launch, including hands-on support, error logging, and in-person feedback gathering.
- Develop predictive reliability models and quantify the impact of design changes.
- Utilise accelerated life testing to identify and mitigate design weaknesses.
About you
- Exceptional analytical capabilities, including strong numerical reasoning, robust modeling, and structured problem-solving.
- Proven expertise in data management, encompassing the collation, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive product verification test plans.
- Extensive hands-on practical experience in product testing.
- Adept at communicating complex technical findings effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proficient in leveraging FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to inform and optimize design.
