The Role
Investors’ Chronicle is seeking a financial journalist to join our Personal Finance/Funds team. The successful candidate will provide in-depth analysis, commentary, and news for a sophisticated private investor audience on topics including funds, tax, pensions, and investment platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Produce well-researched, opinionated articles on personal finance, including fund analysis, portfolio management, retirement planning and tax efficiency.

Generate ideas and contribute to personal finance, funds, interviews, comment, news and feature sections.

Interview fund managers, analysts and other key market participants.

Deliver fresh, data-informed, authoritative and actionable content tailored to a range of investor experience levels.

Support special projects such as the Top 50 Funds report and contribute to webinars, events and podcasts.

Collaborate with the Digital Editor to grow online audiences.

Work to deadlines set by the Production Editor, Editor and Deputy Editor while maintaining strong internal communication.
Required Skills and Experience

Strong writing skills with the ability to turn technical financial topics into lively, opinionated copy for private investors.

Analytical approach with an ability to interpret data and draw clear, well-argued conclusions.

Organised and fast paced with excellent communication skills.
Desirable
-
Experience covering financial markets, funds or personal finance.

Knowledge of equity markets, investment platforms, tax and pensions.

Prior experience of podcasting, webinars or multimedia journalism.
