The US Wealth Middle Office Accountant is supporting Man’s US registered funds business including the new ETF platform and Interval fund structures.  The role will involve establishing accounting processes and procedures as well as the daily oversight of NAV production and hands on operational support. The role will suit a highly driven candidate who is motivated to be a part of establishing a new support function at Man and grow their career as the business scales. A core expectation of the Middle Office Accountant will be to leverage their experience to establish appropriate process and controls alongside more established members of the Middle Office team. The Middle Office Accountant will be responsible for a significant portion of the day-to-day operational support and managing relationships with our external counterparts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the direction and administration of day-to-day operations and processes for Man’s funds which are subject to registration under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Liaise with the fund administrator/s to reconcile final fund NAVs and oversee all other activity performed by the fund administrator.
  • Produce NAV estimates based on Man internal systems and ensure integrity of internal data impacting the investment decision making process.
  • Establish accounting procedures to support financial reporting obligations of the funds.
  • Work with the Chief Compliance Officer of the funds to ensure adherence to all financial and regulatory reporting obligations under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Provide support to the Principal Financial Officers of the funds.
  • Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the pricing governance and controls are maintained through identification and mitigation of pricing risks and the communication/documentation of any enhancements to the framework.
  • Ensure relevant information is incorporated in the valuation of funds and that valuations are reflective of fair value.
  • Oversight of incentive/performance fees, management fees, and any other fee structures in scope.
  • Responsible for service provider relationships including but not limited to, fund administration, loan administration, banking, auditors, valuation agents, etc.
  • Actively monitor risk by identifying trends and potential issues with operational controls to improve the control environment and drive efficiencies.
  • Taking a proactive and innovative approach to enhancing processes and maintaining internal policies and procedures manuals.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in accounting, including exposure to funds subject to registration under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Strong knowledge of ETF and/or Interval Fund structures.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products strongly preferred.
  • Experience working at an Investment Manager/Advisor preferred.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills (power point, excel and word).
  • Strong communication skills, strong business knowledge and ability to multitask.
  • A team player, who is also comfortable to take individual ownership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple senior stakeholders.
