The Team
Man Group's Enterprise Risk Management function encompasses several specialised teams, including Operational Risk and Third-Party Risk Management. These teams play a critical role in safeguarding the business by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our operations and external partnerships. Through robust risk and control frameworks, these functions ensure Man maintains operational resilience while meeting regulatory obligations and protecting stakeholder interests.

Role Summary
Design, develop and maintain custom web applications that support the requirements of the Enterprise Risk function.

Role Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance the current technology stack, including bug fixes and enhancements
  • Develop and maintain system integrations using REST APIs and scheduled jobs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain bespoke technical solutions for the risk team
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following industry best practices
  • Support in the development of end-user reporting from the current technology stack
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure system security, data integrity
  • Implement robust and flexible data models that are optimized for business maintenance
  • Integrate applications with business communication tools (e.g. Slack, email)
Key Competencies

Essential
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and service integration,
  • Strong Python development experience including experience with common frameworks like Django,
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle principles
  • Understanding of web application security best practices (OWASP, authorization, authentication),
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including optimizing queries and building efficient reporting architectures for large datasets
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and experience of working directly with business users
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise competing work loads
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks/languages (e.g TypeScript, React, Next.js)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Active github portfolio demonstrating personal projects
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium)
  • Experience with Embedding AI into application workflow
