TechSupport Engineer, TechSupport

 About the Man Group Returner Programme

During the six-month programme, you will work on professional assignments based on your skills and interests and will benefit from coaching through the transition period from Career Returners, together with internal mentoring and network access. At the end of the programme, there will be the possibility of a permanent role with the organisation.

Who Man Group is Looking For

Man Group is keen to hear from candidates who have had a career break of at least 24 months (as of April 2026), with relevant previous experience within 1st line or 2nd line tech support. 

Job Profile Summary

This role is responsible for providing technical support to ensure the stability and smooth operation of systems across the business. The role involves proactively identifying and addressing recurring issues by improving processes, creating workflows, and implementing automations. In addition to handling non-BAU tasks and projects, the role serves as a vital link between TechSupport and other engineering teams, managing escalations and supporting VIP incidents and requests.

Responsibilities

·        Provide 1st and 2nd-line troubleshooting and resolution for issues related to Windows, macOS, VDI, and mobile devices, including software deployments via SCCM, Jamf, and Intune

·        Act as an escalation point and bridge between TechSupport and other engineering teams, working with subject matter experts to reach technical conclusions

·        Develop, document, and implement new processes, workflows, and automations to enhance team efficiency and reduce recurring issues

·        Contribute to projects and non-BAU tasks, including escalations and VIP support

·        Provide on-call support during weekends and bank holidays as required

Key Skills & Experience

·        Proven experience in a fast-paced technical support environment with a strong focus on user experience

·        Strong analytical mindset with a focus on root-cause investigation and resolving complex issues thoroughly

·        Proficient in deploying and supporting Windows, macOS, Apple, and Android devices within an MDM environment

·        Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, with experience troubleshooting network-related issues

·        Experience with automation tools (e.g., Power Automate) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is highly advantageous

·        Experience with Git for version control and collaboration

·        Enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting the development of colleagues

·        Motivated to identify technical improvements and develop professionally

·        Genuine interest in working with AI-driven tools and emerging technologies

·        Previous experience in financial services is highly desirable
