About the Man Group Returner Programme

During the six-month programme, you will work on professional assignments based on your skills and interests and will benefit from coaching through the transition period from Career Returners, together with internal mentoring and network access. At the end of the programme, there will be the possibility of a permanent role with the organisation.

Who Man Group is Looking For

Man Group is keen to hear from candidates of any gender who have had a career break of at least 24 months (as of April 2026), with relevant previous experience within investment analytics.

 

Investment Analysis – Risk & Performance Analyst

This role sits within the Risk & Performance Analysis team within Global Investment Analytics. The core function of this team is to support our Investment Management, Sales and Marketing teams globally with responses to quantitative risk, analytical queries and the provision of performance statistics and attribution analysis on our entire product range. The role is also heavily involved with regulatory risk reporting to the SEC, FCA and other regulators around the world.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Produce performance metrics for both internal and external distribution
  • Assist in the production and checking of bespoke risk templates and client performance
  • Calculate exposure and risk metrics to assist in responding to ad-hoc client queries
  • Contribute to and produce competitor / peer group analysis and reports
  • Involvement in the production and approval of the team's contribution to quarterly regulatory reporting
 

Key Competencies

  • Analytical mindset – strong quantitative problem-solving ability with attention to detail
  • Problem-solving approach – the ability to analyse information, ask questions, and work collaboratively towards pragmatic solutions
  • Advanced Excel proficiency – strong Excel skills are essential for this role, including experience with complex formulas, data manipulation and analysis; refresher training is available to help you get up to speed with any new features introduced during your career break
  • Curious and proactive – willing to take on responsibility and ownership, with support from an experienced team as you build confidence
  • Strong communication skills – ability to establish constructive working relationships with colleagues across different teams
  • Interest in financial markets – some familiarity with financial markets or investment vehicles is desirable but not essential; comprehensive training on our products and processes is provided
