RTB/Adserver Specialist

The RTB/Adserver Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing programmatic channels, overseeing direct client campaigns, and ensuring the effective operation of the ad server (Google Ad Manager). This position collaborates closely with internal teams such as Yield Management, Ad Operations, and Sales to maximize advertising revenue and campaign effectiveness.

💻 What You’ll do

Programmatic Advertising Optimization:

  • Manage and correctly implement tools like CMP, Prebid, and IAB standards.

  • Daily optimization of programmatic channels (e.g., boosting eCPM).

  • Oversee RTB inventory and work with SSP/DSP platforms to maximize revenue.

Ad Server & Direct Campaign Management:

  • Set up, manage, and optimize campaigns in Google Ad Manager.

  • Ensure smooth execution and performance of direct campaigns.

  • Manage targeting rules, blocklists, ad tags, and tracking pixels.

  • Automate workflows to improve campaign management efficiency.

Campaign Management:

  • Launch new advertising platforms and channels.

  • Collaborate with developers to optimize ad placements and tagging.

  • Support private RTB deals – both technically and performance-wise.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Analyze data to improve campaign results.

  • Use tools like Power BI and Excel/Google Sheets for KPI tracking.

  • Create reports on revenue trends, ad server performance, and campaign impact.

Client Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Act as the main point of contact for ad delivery and technical issues.

  • Support sales in client onboarding and campaign optimization.

  • Provide strategic advice on ad formats and campaign best practices.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Yield Manager on strategy and optimization.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Product teams.

  • Train internal teams on ad server tools, programmatic, and campaign management.

🔎About You 

  • You know your way around Google Ad Manager and other ad-serving platforms like a pro.
  • Complex ad technologies don’t intimidate you from tag-based setups and header bidding to S2S integrations and RTB environments, you understand how it all connects.
  • Data isn’t just numbers to you - tools like Power BI and Google Sheets help you uncover patterns, optimize performance, and make smarter decisions.
  • When something breaks, you're the one people turn to. Troubleshooting ad delivery issues and managing third-party tracking or verification tools is second nature.
  • You understand the full scope of direct advertising and RTB monetization from strategy to execution.
  • Setting up, managing, and optimizing both programmatic and direct ad campaigns is something you’ve done time and time again.
  • You’re well-versed in industry regulations like GDPR, and you know how to apply best practices around data privacy and consent without sacrificing performance.
  • Media buying, private marketplace deals, and supply path optimization aren’t new territory - you know how to navigate them with confidence.
  • You’ve worked with major SSPs like Magnite, Pubmatic, Xandr, and IndexExchange, and that hands-on experience makes a difference.
  • Prebid and Header Bidding are more than just tools, they’re part of your everyday workflow.

The RTB and Ad Operations department is a key part of Groupon's advertising ecosystem, responsible for both programmatic advertising and direct (client) campaigns. The department focuses on optimizing programmatic sales, managing direct advertising deals, and ensuring seamless ad server operations. It also supports technological innovation, maintains partnerships with technology providers, and enhances ad performance and yield across all advertising channels.
