About your key responsibilities and impact:

  • Analyzing technology architecture gaps and translating them into opportunities.
  • Defining processes for compliance, vitality, exceptions, communications, and change management.
  • Establishing architecture principles to guide technology decisions.
  • Designing governance for both business and IT needs.
  • Identifying and defining business expectations and requirements.
  • Developing architecture frameworks, models, and blueprints for solution design and deployment.
  • Overseeing quality management of multiple projects or teams.
  • Researching current and future technology trends to address stakeholder concerns.

Essential professional experience:

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a senior engineering role, demonstrating leadership and successful project delivery.

System Analysis & Design:

  • Deep understanding of microservices and monolithic architectures - advantages, challenges, and use cases;
  • Ability to design event-driven and resilient systems;
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns and limitations;
  • Knowledge of resilience patterns (e.g., circuit breaker, rate-limiter);
  • Strong grasp of message delivery guarantees and the CAP theorem;
  • Skilled in requirements gathering and documentation (functional/non-functional);
  • Proficient in UML (Class, Sequence, and Use Case diagrams).

Database Management:

  • Expertise in database concepts: schemas, relationships, normalization;
  • Advanced SQL skills — complex queries, stored procedures, and functions;
  • Understanding of relational vs non-relational databases;
  • Knowledge of ACID principles, transaction isolation, and concurrency;
  • Experience in performance tuning and query optimization;
  • Awareness of database security practices (encryption, access control, SQL injection);

Networking & Security:

  • Strong understanding of networking (TCP, UDP, IP, addressing, subnetting);
  • Familiar with the CIA triad (confidentiality, integrity, availability) and secure communication (SSL/TLS);
  • Basic cryptography knowledge (algorithms, key management, PKI);
  • Experience with VPNs, firewalls, NAT, and PAT;
  • Understanding of authentication vs authorization, IAM, SSO, MFA, LDAP, and Active Directory;

Cloud Computing & DevOps:

  • Knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS);
  • Experience with scalability, virtualization, and elasticity;
  • Proficient in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes);
  • Skilled in CI/CD tools (GitLab, Ansible, Terraform);
  • Familiar with AWS, Azure, GCP cloud services;
  • Ability to design scalable, resilient cloud systems;
  • Understanding of cloud storage models (object, block, file) and basic FinOps;

Software Development Lifecycle:

  • Familiar with SDLC methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, DevOps;
  • Proficient in Git for version control;
  • Adhere to clean, maintainable code practices;
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins);
  • Knowledge of testing types (unit, integration, system, UAT) and automation frameworks;
