Chief Payment Gateway Officer (CPGO)
The Chief Payment Gateway Officer is a senior executive responsible for steering GR8 Tech’s Payment Gateway division towards operational excellence and growth. This role is integral to the success of the company, focusing on optimizing payment systems, enhancing client satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. With a strong emphasis on product development, operations, and strategic partnerships, the CPGO ensures seamless payment processes, security, and scalability across global markets.

About your key responsibilities and impact

  • Strategic Leadership and Business Development:
    • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for the payment gateway division to align with GR8 Tech’s overall business goals.
    • Identify new business opportunities and establish strategic partnerships with payment providers, operators, and key stakeholders to expand market reach.
    • Drive business development initiatives to enhance product adoption and revenue growth across multiple GEOs.
  • Product Development and IT:
    • Oversee the design, development, and continuous improvement of payment products, ensuring they meet client needs and are aligned with market demands.
    • Collaborate closely with the IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless integrations with third-party payment providers and internal systems.
    • Lead innovation in payment technology to maintain competitiveness in global markets, including the introduction of new payment methods and multi-currency solutions.
  • Operational Management:
    • Ensure the payment gateway operates efficiently with high transaction success rates, minimal downtime, and optimized processing costs.
    • Implement and monitor operational KPIs, using data-driven insights to identify gaps and drive improvements.
    • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to streamline workflows, enhance service delivery, and support client satisfaction.
  • Integration Leadership:
    • Manage end-to-end integration processes for new payment providers, gateways, and client platforms, ensuring efficiency and quality.
    • Address and resolve technical or operational challenges during onboarding and integration phases.
  • Team Leadership and People Management:
    • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team across product, IT, operations, and business development functions.
    • Define team goals and align them with departmental and company objectives.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the payment gateway division.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure the payment gateway complies with global regulatory standards (e.g., AML, KYC, PCI DSS) and internal policies.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, such as fraud, chargebacks, and operational vulnerabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Represent the payment gateway division in discussions with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and senior leadership.
    • Act as a key liaison between the payment team and other company departments to ensure alignment on cross-functional initiatives.

Essential professional experience

  • Industry Expertise:
    • 10+ years in payments or fintech, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
    • Proven experience in high-risk payment processing, with a strong understanding of the gambling industry’s unique challenges.
    • Expertise in managing multi-currency and GEO-specific payment systems.
  • Technical and Operational Skills:
    • Deep understanding of payment gateway architecture, product development, and operations.
    • Strong grasp of global regulatory standards, including AML, KYC, and PCI DSS compliance.
    • Hands-on experience in scaling payment infrastructure and optimizing transaction processes.
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow high-performing teams.
    • Excellent communication skills, with experience managing relationships at all organizational levels.
    • Proven success in cross-cultural and international environments.

Desirable skills and personal features

  • Familiarity with cryptocurrency payment systems and blockchain technologies.
  • Experience working in B2B gambling platforms, PSPs, or operators is a strong advantage.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align payment initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is a strong advantage.
  • Flexibility to relocate to Cyprus or work closely with management and shareholders on-site.
