The Role
This role sits within the Group Reporting team, part of FT’s Global Finance operation. As a newly created position, it supports the Director of Corporate Reporting & Accounting and the Group Finance Director across key areas such as the Group’s M&A activity, technical accounting, and other ad-hoc projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with 2-3 years post-qualified experience seeking a step up to lead and implement projects, before growing into a broader reporting role with exposure to commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Group Reporting Team’s involvement in key M&A projects and oversee acquisition-related accounting on a monthly basis, collaborating with:
    • Minority shareholders
    • Joint venture parties
    • Other strategic partners
    • Third-party advisors
  • Draft technical accounting papers detailing the financial reporting impact of significant transactions.
  • Handle the rollout of comprehensive updates to the Group’s accounting policies.
  • Ensure an effective control environment is maintained and meet delivery deadlines for key workstreams.
  • Support the Group Reporting Manager in monthly consolidation activities.
  • Collaborate with the Group Reporting team for timely completion of month-end activities, semi-annual reporting to Nikkei, and both Group and statutory audits.

Why You?

  • Qualified ACA with 2-3 years of experience, ideally including exposure to M&A activity.
  • Strong technical knowledge and a commercial approach.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator, adept at both verbal and written communication, capable of engaging with different partners across different teams.
  • Experience working with international and cross functional teams.
  • Proven track record to prioritise and run multiple projects, embracing change when necessary.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Desire to deliver value to collaborators and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Oracle is preferable.
