ABOUT THE ROLE

Working under the FP&A Director, this role will be highly analytical, working with large data sets to help solve business problems, develop automated data tools and provide key business stakeholders with useful strategic insights to drive business decision making. 

You will be responsible for partnering closely with various stakeholders across the organisation to provide critical insights and strategic guidance. You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, optimising profitability, and supporting key decision-making processes.

You will add value as a trusted adviser, aiming to improve awareness of business performance and forward-looking strategies, by presenting the conclusions of business data in an understandable way. You must be able to work at a fast pace and develop tools using technology such as PostgreSQL and Power BI that will be self-sufficient going forward. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate with business intelligence and commercial teams to develop dashboards and reports using PostgreSQL and Power BI that inform strategic decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for system enhancements and automation to streamline financial processes and drive efficiency.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed profitability reviews, working with project managers to identify and implement improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present complex data in an accessible format to senior management, guiding strategic planning and business cases.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis and build Excel models to support critical business decisions in a fast-paced environment.

 

ABOUT YOU

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years within a Finance / Data Analytics role
  • Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Highly proficient in SQL (preferably PostgreSQL)
  • Strong Power BI experience 
  • Proven experience in data modeling and building analytical tools from scratch.
  • A natural curiosity to learn and a ‘can do’ mentality with a strong preference to suggest solutions rather than just identify problems.
  • Ability to produce and present high quality and accurate analysis to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent with Microsoft and Google Suite – Excel, Word, Sheets, Docs, PowerPoint
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and work to tight deadlines
  • Results driven with high attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with working closely with commercial teams.
  • Strong commercial / business acumen to understand the business landscape, identify opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and facilitate collaborative decision-making.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across various levels of the organisation.
  • Adept problem-solving capabilities to tackle complex financial challenges and provide actionable recommendations.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in Private Equity, SaaS and B2B environments.
  • NetSuite and Salesforce
  • Python automation skills
